Vermont Forensic Nursing Education and Resources

The next Adult Adolescent SANE Course will be held October 2 (virtual), Waterbury 3,4,5, 2024, plus a simulation at UVMMC on October 12 or November 2.

There are some modifications to the 2024 course registration: We will offer two spots for each hospital/clinic with established programs in Vermont, totaling  24.  Any remaining openings will then be offered to new programs or primary care nurses. Additionally, there will be a mandatory meeting in the spring, and interviews will follow the meeting for all interested candidates.

If you are interested in attending the Adult Adolescent course in October, don't hesitate to get in touch with your hospital coordinator for specific information about the requirements for becoming a SANE.

The next Pediatric course will be held in the spring of 2025.

This adjustment allows Adult SANEs the opportunity to practice before transitioning to a Pediatric SANE. These changes have been implemented based on feedback from previous course evaluations and extensive discussions on how to effectively support existing programs with retention by finding committed SANEs.
